In December 2020, Raymond James entered into a definitive purchase agreement to acquire Financo, a boutique investment bank focused on the consumer sector. With offices in New York and London, Financo has strong expertise in a number of consumer and retail specialties and is particularly known for its capabilities in the beauty and personal care, direct-to-consumer e-commerce, enthusiast brands, healthy living and active lifestyle, as well as home furnishings segments, and for working with private, private-equity-backed and publicly traded high-growth, transformative consumer companies. The integration of Financo’s more than 25 experienced professionals with our complementary consumer and retail practice will position the firm as a global market-leader in consumer and retail investment banking.
Advised IQHQ and served as lead placement agent for its initial equity offering and follow-on, raising over $2 billion of total equity in 12 months. IQHQ is a private REIT focused on the development and redevelopment of life science real estate in top markets.
Advised Wellbeing Software Group, a portfolio company of Elysian Capital, on its sale to the Citadel Group. Wellbeing Software is the UK market-leading provider of Radiology and Maternity Solutions that manage patient workflow and data. The acquirer is an Australian listed software business.
Advised the court appointed permanent receiver of Direct Lending Investments, LLC on the monetization and restructuring of its loan and investment portfolio ($750 million transaction value). Direct Lending Investments, LLC was a private alternative credit fund with approximately $800 million of AUM that invested in private debt facilities and whole loans of middle-market specialty finance and financial technology companies.
Advised Reflexis Systems, a portfolio company of Great Hill Partners and Sageview Capital, on its sale to Zebra ($575 million transaction value). Reflexis Systems is the leading provider of intelligent workforce management, execution and communication solutions for multi-site organizations in retail, food service, hospitality, and banking.
Advised Performance Team on its sale to A.P. Moller – Maersk ($545 million transaction value). Performance Team is a leading provider of e-commerce, retail, wholesale and omnichannel distribution and transportation services, with a national network of 24 warehousing facilities.
Served as a bookrunning manager on ChemoCentryx’s $346.8 million follow-on offering in June 2020. ChemoCentryx is a biopharmaceutical company developing innovative medications focused on inflammatory disorders, autoimmune diseases and cancer. This transaction provides ChemoCentryx with significant capital to commercialize its lead asset, which has shown clinical superiority, and to progress clinical development in other indications.
Served as Lead Left Bookrunner on NexPoint Real Estate Finance’s $101.65 million IPO, the first mortgage REIT IPO since 2017. Advised NexPoint Real Estate Advisors on its acquisition of Jernigan Capital ($900 million transaction value). The proforma entity will consist of best-in-class assets and will increase NexPoint’s Self Storage platform to over $1.4 billion.
Advised CVC Capital Partners on the acquisition of Webpros. Webpros is the leading SaaS platform for server management.
Served as exclusive sell-side advisor to 7-Eleven Oklahoma. Headquartered in Oklahoma City and a leading convenience store operator in the Southwestern United States, the company is positioned with significant market share in central Oklahoma and uniquely operating independently under the 7-Eleven brand.
Advised Bluestem Brands on a plan of reorganization that was implemented via a Section 363 sale of the debtors’ assets for total consideration of approximately $340 million. Bluestem fulfilled 14 million consumer products customer orders in 2019. The transaction provided substantial creditor recoveries and preserved 2,200 jobs.
Served as the exclusive financial advisor to Proteus Digital Health. Launched and closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, Raymond James consummated a Section 363 sale to Otsuka within 106 days of being engaged, after first running a dual-track capital raise and sale process.
Advised AML RightSource, a portfolio company of Clarion Capital Partners, on its acquisition by Gridiron Capital. AML RightSource is the leading firm focused on fighting financial crime for its clients with Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and financial crimes compliance solutions. The Company provides highly-trained AML/BSA professionals to assist banks and non-bank financial institutions to meet day-to-day compliance tasks.
Advised Dime Community Bancshares on its announced merger of equals with Bridge Bancorp ($490 million transaction value). This transformational combination of two iconic community banks will create the premier community-based business bank in New York.
Advised Armira Partners on the sale of F24. F24 is the European market leader for Crisis Management Software.
Advised PIXIA on its sale of a remaining 80% stake to Cubic Corporation ($200 million transaction value). PIXIA provides high performance advanced data to the U.S. Intelligence Community, Department of Defense and other government customers for indexing, processing and dissemination software solutions for large volumes of imagery data within traditional or cloud-based architectures.
Provided a fairness opinion to the conflicts committee of the board of directors for Capital Product Partners’ acquisition of three 10,000 TEU container vessels, for a total consideration of $162.6 million, from Capital Maritime & Trading Corp.
Served as Bookrunning Manager for OneWater Marine’s $63.7 million IPO in February 2020 and its $63.4 million follow-on offering in September 2020. OneWater Marine is one of the largest and fastest-growing premium recreational boat retailers in the United States.

Advised Campus Management and Edcentric, portfolio companies of Leeds Equity Partners, on their acquisition by Veritas Capital. Campus Management is a leading provider of cloud-based SIS, CRM and ERP solutions and services that transform higher education institutions. Edcentric is the leading provider of institutional effectiveness software to over 1,400 education institutions.
Advised MRI Software, a portfolio company of TA Associates, Harvest Partners and GI Partners, on a recommended cash offer for Castleton PLC. MRI is a global provider of real estate software applications and hosted solutions.
Served as Lead Bookrunner for Kimbell’s $89.1 million follow-on offering. Kimbell used the net proceeds from the offering to fund a portion of the cash purchase price for the acquisition of oil and natural gas mineral and royalty interests from Springbok Energy Partners.
Advised Frontpoint in its majority investment from Twin Point Capital. Frontpoint is a leading provider of premium do-it-yourself (“DIY”) home security and smart home technology.
Advised CFBanc Corporation on its announced merger of equals with Broadway Financial Corporation. This historic and transformational combination will create the largest Black-led Minority Depository Institution in the nation, with a focus on advancing economic and social equity in financially underserved urban communities.
Served as Hollingsworth Oil Company’s exclusive sell-side advisor. Hollingsworth Oil Company is a leading operator of convenience stores and a wholesale fuel distributor in the United States.
Advised The Palm Restaurant Group on debtor-in-possession financing and a Section 363 sale to Golden Nugget, LLC. The transaction was consummated 89 days after Raymond James’ engagement, preserved 1,400 jobs, fully repaid secured and unsecured creditors and achieved a material distribution to equity.
Advised Orion on its merger with Brinker Capital, with an investment from TA Associates and Genstar. Orion Advisor Solutions is the premier provider of the tech-enabled fiduciary process that transforms the advisor-client relationship by enabling financial advisors to Prospect, Plan, Invest, and Achieve within a single, connected, technology driven experience.
Terry Huffine joined the firm as a managing director with over 20 years’ experience in mergers and acquisitions and corporate strategy. Prior to Raymond James, Mr. Huffine was a managing director at Robert W. Baird & Co., where he led its European consumer goods business. Throughout his career, Mr. Huffine has completed a wide range of public and private transactions in different sectors – including personal care, household products, and food and beverage – across the U.S., South America, Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Allan Bertie joined Raymond James as managing director and co-head of European Investment Banking. Prior to joining Raymond James, Mr. Bertie was with Jefferies International, where he was managing director in the European M&A Group based in London. Prior to that role, Mr. Bertie held the role of senior managing director of Macquarie Capital’s Industrials, Communications and Sponsors (ICS) team. Mr. Bertie has also worked at GCA Savvian, Dresdner Kleinwort and Credit Suisse First Boston. Mr. Bertie also serves as a member of the development board for the University of Glasgow.
David Fowkes joined Raymond James as a managing director in Diversified Industrials Investment Banking. Mr. Fowkes has 25 years of experience in investment banking and aviation and aerospace, including with clients in commercial and corporate fixed wing; helicopter; aviation leasing and aerospace maintenance; and repair and manufacturing companies. He has led or participated in dozens of assignments in over 30 countries. Mr. Fowkes received his B.S. in chemical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his MBA in finance from NYU’s Stern School of Business.
Marta Glazier has over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry, both at public and private organizations. Prior to Raymond James, Marta was a managing director at Hegemon Capital, where she oversaw due diligence and investment in 22 separate venture capital investments. In 2004, Ms. Glazier founded a Russian investment bank, First Western Capital, which focused on raising capital for Russian banks’ residential mortgage programs. Ms. Glazier holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.
Edward Griffin joined the Raymond James Financial Services group and brought with him 20-years of investment banking experience. Prior to Raymond James, Mr. Griffin worked for Rothschild & Co, Credit Suisse and HSBC. As a managing director, Mr. Griffin focuses on extending the firm’s market-leading North American advisory capabilities in the financial services arena into the UK and across all of Europe.
Jeffrey Groves has over 20 years of investment banking and leveraged finance experience, including leveraged loans, high yield bonds, acquisition finance commitments, covenant negotiations, exchange offers and restructuring. Previously, he was a Managing Director in the Leveraged Finance Originations and Financial Sponsors groups at UBS where he led the firm’s leveraged activities for the Global Industrials Group. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University and an MBA from The University of Western Ontario.
Will Hodge joined Raymond James as managing director in Energy Investment Banking. He has advised on over $90 billion of oil and gas industry transactions across a range of products. Prior to joining Raymond James, Mr. Hodge was a managing director at Barclays focused on E&P client coverage. Mr. Hodge served for eight years as a Navy SEAL officer with combat deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.B.A in management and received his M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with majors in finance and accounting.
Jay Hernandez joined Raymond James as a managing director in Diversified Industrials Investment Banking. Mr. Hernandez has over 16 years of experience working with global corporate and private equity clients in industrial technology sectors. Prior to joining Raymond James, Mr. Hernandez was a managing director at Moelis & Company, where he led the firm’s global industrial technology practice. He holds a B.S. in accounting and finance from the University of Arizona and an MBA from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University.
Tobias Ramminger joined Raymond James as managing director in European Diversified Industrials Investment Banking. With over 12 years of investment banking and M&A experience advising private equity, corporate clients and entrepreneurs on sell- and buy-side transactions, capital raises and joint ventures. Prior to joining Raymond James, Tobias was a managing director with Lincoln International in Frankfurt. Tobias holds a diploma in business administration from Leipzig Graduate School of Management (HHL) and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Saarland University/TU Kaiserslautern.
Ashu Rathore joined Raymond James as a managing director in Financial Services Investment Banking. Mr. Rathore has spent over 18 years in the financial services sector in the U.S. and India. Prior to joining Raymond James, Mr. Rathore was a managing director at Guggenheim Securities, delivering strategic advice and transaction execution for a broad range of insurance sector clients. Mr. Rathore earned his PGDM from Nirma Institute of Management in Ahmedabad, India, and received his MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.
Alastair Rogers joined Raymond James as managing director in European Diversified Industrials Investment Banking. Joining Raymond James with nearly 20 years of investment banking and M&A experience, Alastair was a Managing Director and Head of European Sustainability and Services & Industrials sectors with Canaccord Genuity in London. He also previously worked for UBS Investment Bank and Hawkpoint Partners. Alastair has a deep sector knowledge and focus on sustainability themes of energy and resource efficiency. Alastair graduated from Cambridge University with a M.A. in Classics.
Andy Schwartz joined Raymond James as managing Director in Diversified Industrials Investment Banking. Mr. Schwartz was previously a senior banker in the Business Services group at Lincoln International where he led M&A and capital raising transactions in the facilities & industrial services, environmental & waste services, utilities & infrastructure services and rental services sectors. Mr. Schwartz received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Ross School of Business at University of Michigan and MBA from the Booth School of Business at University of Chicago.
Alexander Setness joined Raymond James as managing director in Diversified Industrials Investment Banking. He has nearly 20 years of investment banking experience, with a focus on cross-border M&A, strategic advisory and capital raising for companies and investors in the transportation sector. Mr. Setness previously worked at Bank of America where he led investment banking coverage for companies in the airline, surface transportation and transportation infrastructure sectors in North America. Mr. Setness received a Bachelor of Arts in history and economics from Yale University.
Sonu Johl joined Raymond James as managing director in Energy Investment Banking. With over 20 years of corporate experience, he spent the majority of his investment banking career at Citi, advising on oil and gas transactions across a range of products including corporate mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, initial public offerings, inaugural bond issuances, private placements, acquisition financings and restructurings. Mr. Johl holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from San Jose State University and MBA from the Darden School of Business at University of Virginia.
Bell Zhong joined Raymond James as managing director in Health Care Investment Banking. With over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, Mr. Zhong previously worked for J.P. Morgan Securities, LLC, where he most recently held the title of executive director for health care investment banking covering biopharmaceutical companies. Mr. Zhong holds a B.S. in finance and accounting with minors in computer science and mathematics from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University, where he graduated magna cum laude.
Dr. Titus Phoro has more than 15 years of biopharmaceutical experience, including almost a decade as an investment banker focusing on biotech clients. Most recently, he was a senior coverage banker at Stifel focused on West Coast biotech clients, and previously worked at Jefferies, RBC and JMP Securities. Prior to beginning his investment banking career, Dr. Phoro worked as a registered pharmacist for CVS/Pharmacy and completed pharmacy rotations at the Texas Medical Center in Houston. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Texas Southern University.
